JULES THE DOTA ENJOYER

Guys, I'm frustrated, I really need your help on why I keep losing my games.
Recently, I've changed my play style from being kill-oriented to goal-oriented, and by goal-oriented I mean I have specific goals in my mind as to how to win the match starting from drafting.

Now here's what I have in my mind when the match starts.

    1. Push all the towers as far as possible to limit enemy map control and to increase ours.
    2. Gank if possible, when the enemy over extends.
    3. Try to push the last T1 tower and when that happens.
    4. Get rax
    5. Get ancient

It's so simple in my mind but I always stop short of step 3 or step 4.

Because at some point when all T3 and T2 towers are pushed, it's just feels like it's soooo hard to go to the uphill ground where the T1 lies, and everytime me and my time dives, we always die, despite the fact that the enemy are at a disadvantage in kills, levels and items, we still die just because of that uphill dive.

And even if we somehow take the T1's, the enemy somehow makes a comeback, suddenly it feels like they are strong, or even stronger than us and when we do a team fight suddenly they are winning when in fact they were losing just a couple of minutes ago.

I don't understand this, why is this happening? why are my enemy's making a comeback on such a massive scale?

    Example, in this match

    4016286224 - I was playing PA.

You can clearly see that the towers were already pushed, the enemy was getting stomped and I even manage to get 10 kills without dying. We even managed to take their T1's and go to their base but that's only 1 time, just 1 time and then suddenly they make a comeback and we were done. I couldn't even fight them anymore. For me it felt like suddenly there was nothing we could do despite the overwhelming advantage that we had in early and mid game.

Second match, 4016363296 - I was playing Void.

My mechanics on this hero is a little slow so forgive me if I made mistakes on using my chrono.
But I don't want to focus on that now, in this match you could clearly see than we took 6 towers from them very early in the game while they only took 2. We took all there T3's and T2's.
The problem, everytime we attack T1, we just get overwhelmed by them, we just couldn't get past, it feels like we couldn't crack the base.

Eventually the tinker became strong and then they started pushing our towers, now the tables are turned and we lost just like that.

So, can somebody tell me what am I missing here? Why do we keep losing even though we pushed most of the enemy's towers? is my hero pick wrong? itemization? was it our teamwork?

    Thanks.

Hi, apparently you didn't read patchnotes. Highground is very hard to siege now because of ridiculously cheap buyback, rax increased HP abd reduced bounty. So logically when you have pushed enemy team on their highground you don't dive it like morons, but you use the sitation where you can farm whole map and enemy cant, you control all 4 bounty runes wich net you more gold than towers you can take Roshan, and if enemy team dares to get out abd contest you, then you kill them and go HG, you dont waltz in there like lemings...

so general tip is u gotta be able to recognize ur CONDITION to go high ground. if u repeatedly lose in this stage, it means ur recognition to when to go hg isn't right.

now to practically get good my suggestion is go watch a shit ton of pro/high mmr dota and fast forward to the part where they only have high ground left to take. now start watching this part forward and specifically watch how they breach high ground. if they fail to do so, try seeing if u know why. if they do it, again, why? what was the condition that let them do it.

u do that^ enough times, ur brain's pattern recognition will pick up patterns and u can now test it in ur games and keep getting better at recognizing the right conditions for each game

Just a nitpick but you have your tiers wrong. Tier 1 tower is the first tower you encounter, the one furthest from the ancient. Tier 3 tower is the high ground tower. Just mentioning it cuz your post got kinda confusing until i pieced it together lol. But yeah, if you are having that much trouble, consider hanging back and controlling the map. Choke out your opponents' resources until you feel you are strong enough to break high ground, possibly get pickoffs if they decide to leave base. Otherwise, as sia said, figure out what exactly is preventing you from getting high ground (specific hero, skill, item, etc.) and find a way to take care of it.

in anshit and divineLUL, you might get the aegis because of a lucky fight or because you werent contested but u actually have nothing and people tend to throw bodies at rax then lose, happens all the time and i get flamed of course for not throwing because im not dumb and i actually check items and lvls and look at the wave condition.

Never go high ground without aegis OR go hi ground when enemy is teamwiped
