In 1k you should NEVER play with your team. Farm, farm, farm, farm, farm, farm, farm, and start fighting when you can literally 1v9. In 2k+ you can start playing with you team more.
People who say 1k is harder than 3k are actually not that far from truth. In 1k you can't predict anything, can't rely on anyone. However, when you change your mindset, and treat it as 1v9 game (let noobs die, just farm), games become ez if you really are a 3k+ player. When I lost in 1k, it was mostly because I tried to help teammates instead farming. That's the mindset you shouldn't have in 1k if you want to climb.

And OP, well, they are a lot of things, but you will notice they do not lack foolish determination, so if this thread stayed up at the peak of the shitstorm, I doubt it will go now, when all the fans are basically off.

While I understand that you seek to invoke a certain sense of grandiose scale of your opezdalness, I cannot help but notice that being an opezdal itself is very much incompatible with grandiosity. So either add an apostrophe and s to make your statement grammatically correct or just call yourself an oxymoron openly. (This is definitely not a bait associated with the last five letters in the word oxymoron.)
Also, slugs don't have guts, you can squash one and see for yourself. Just like you are absolutely squashing the requirements for becoming a mark.

I feel like that's the best way to climb and develop habits that require less "relearning" at higher brackets. 1-3k players typically all want to be core and have no sense of power timings. You can, of course, rise as an initiator or support or captain because most 1-3k teams (yes, even in China) have 4+ cores and wannabe cores (like riki and pudge or SB->Aghs WD/Lion, lol). This necessarily makes laning impossible and most will endlessly feed after the laning phase in your jungle on "ganks". If you can restrain your team from doing similar things or capitalize on their throws, you will win most games, but it creates bad habits for a player once he reaches the level where enemy supports actually exist, enemy cores have better sense of their power windows, better laning skills, and don't make such stupid mid-game moves. Such "support mains" will then literally be clueless and useless in higher tier games on a strategic level and will have to relearn, even if their people skills and teamfighting skills are decent.
it brings us back to discussion about how you must play core if you want to learn dota. because low skill supports will never understand what and when the core wants them to provide in the first place, if they don't have significant experience at the role themselves.
besides, most of them think getting some item as support matters more than letting your carry have a good time, even if they had an idea how to help.

Reddit is filled with their circlejerk, for example.
Then there are the players who build defensive items as decorations and never use them because hotkeys are too hard for them or forget that you can cast force staff and gliimmer cape on allies (and when they try to use it on an ally, they accidentally self-cast) or their brain and hands (as well as possibly their internet) both just lag too much to react properly or simply are too selfish and only use those items to save themselves.

its not that hard tbh. im 3k and i played on my friend's account who's around 1k and it wasn't bad at all when i picked a hard carry. I easily destroyed them but i remember having an incredibly frustrating game when i picked support as i was bored of carrying. So in the end i just picked carries and boosted his account. The lesson i learned was that the carries in that bracket do NOT know how to farm gold fast and being a support is pretty useless late game. So to get out of the bracket if you think you're good enough just pick a hero who's more significant. Get a ward for yourself if your support is shit, it costs only 75 gold but it'll save your life a couple of times.
My record was 20 games played, 17 won, 3 lost. Ranked games.

True, I saw Miracle- once at 1k mmr smurf account. He went to 452 mmr. He said that 1k it's pretty impossibile and that he is happy to be 11k
