True, but "support life isnt for me" thing is a complete bs imo. Can say in SEA 80% of our games we are forced to pick support since everyone else want to go carry. That's making you need to adapt with the situation if you still want to grinding your MMR.
Perfectly balanced team is your best way to win the game, even if it needs you to pick a role you not familiar with. Once you're good in supporting, those shit SEA carries will listening to everything you said and try to taking objectives like they never did before. Harrass your opponents, help those clowns to farm well in lane, always buy visions.
Sometimes adjusting by going support isn't feel great but dota is a complex game with many roles. Be versatile and swallow your pride.

I play pos. 5 mainly. - Dirtiest job in Dota. Just get you some guys you know you can rely on (on pos 1.or 2.) and party up with them. Sum guys really appreciate good supports and miss you if you are not online :o
Look at the kuroky, gh or puppey these boys are my dota stars couse i understand what they are doing and why they are doing, im sure they can carry on highest level but they understand that they more valuable for their team as supports.
Watch these guys as good example to learn but don't copy them, find your own style.
But most IMPORTANTLY improve your communicating skill in game, dota players lack this so much, we forgot this game is not about 1vs9 or nothing, players think they lost if they not 6 slotted at 30m mark.
Or you can be that guy who is just muted all the time playing his fucking solo trying to reach high mmr,but trust me if you want you will reach that but you become angry bird in his own world, every single game need to be fun otherwise you wasting your time and your life, dota can be useful as life tool if you're good boy.
It's not your carry's fault if you're unable to find an answer to a very real and common problem. You just need to learn to carry with these types of inexperienced players, as opposed to idealistically expecting a low-skilled player to perform his role properly; it's up to you to sense that he is inexperienced or not and act accordingly. Adapt by changing your mindset first so that instead of resorting to thinking about how the game is lost, think about how you will win the match regardless of the way that it merely appears it will go at first glance. Work with the new system at hand instead of working with a system that isn't there.

Look at my past games, I dominate so hard when I go carry and sometimes I can do 1 vs 5 in game.
But when I support. I do the support that I wanted supports do when i go carry.
Harrass lane = ✓
Initiating kills = ✓
Pulling creeps = ✓
Vision = ✓
Words of encouragement = ✓
No sign of negativity = ✓
Communicate well = ✓
They're just too ignorant to play this game.

Hmmmmm. I got into ancient From legend 1 just from playing support and meepo. support Aint that bad, It is how you support. Supporting isn't just about warding, there is SOOOOOO much more to it than that, like if you are supporting, and just draining exp from your carry. you are clearly doing some shitty ass supporting.
and I don't even play pos 5, I play pos 6. Rofl. I do all the warding, so all 4 of my teamates got something.

if you have even a rudimentary understanding of dota then playing support is just as satisfying as being a core.
Anyone can swagger around when they are six-slotted but outplaying the enemy with brown boots and a wand takes style and panache.
Focus less on your carry and more on your job of disrupting the enemy and crippling their cores.

If you just wanna have fun like me try NP support if you cant go core. Just contest first bounties with treants, jungle, tp to places needed, jungle, tp to cliffs to ward, split push, tp to help team. I saw puppey do it in pubs and he ended up being highest gpm and networth xd
How weird is it if you started as pos 5 Phoenix, but after first picking it nobody pick tank (sad life), proceed to buying wards and took gold talents afterwards, depushing towers constantly, and being a tank (went for HP talents, like, seriously) buying heart and shiva.
Points is, even in some games when I went for bane (your daily lowest GPM on dotabuff) ended can't afford for constant wards, my carry (I remember a sniper) bought wards and sentries! Versatility is the other name of this game I guess, if you want to win.
Lucky for me, most game has nobody wants to be a support, so it's a support winning as a start for me :)
you can be alpha male with 1k GPM but lose as your ancient explode first. at the end it is a 5v5 game
This exact thinking is why everybody wants to play core in SEA. Personally I second pick position 5 role (usually cores or mid pick first ironically). You have to accept this or play ranked role if you do not want this scenario. I only pick core when there are already two supports that beat me to hero selection stage.
