I mean basketball players are better than their team's coach so why do professional basketball players have coaches?
The coach might have a good grasp of strategy but not be as mechanically dexterous as the players, the coach helps the team become a team and not five different players playing together, the coach can look at everyone performance as a whole and individual players without bias. There are many more obvious reasons beside these.

Some individuals have better grasp over the strategy aspect of the game. The reason why most players get stuck in low mmr is pretty simple. The don't know that there is a "strategy" aspect to the game. The only thing they know is "hit creep good".
they do other stuff like research other team drafts. There alot of small stuff coaches do. Also nice to have someone not playing the game give opinions as it is unbiased.

He’s likely the exception to the rule, but it does show how the strategic mind of a coach is really valuable
