About that voting going on, I don't care really about my stats being showed or not, but I think ppl should be able to select public/private. Just like steam profiles.
I'll take a turn from this theme and say something about kda ratio.
I simply think K/D/A ratio should be removed and that we should get like [ 9,12 / 3,65 / 11,34 ] so that is shows your average K/D/A not the shitty ratio which makes no sense...
And I have 20/19 W/L with one hero and it says I got 48% win... why is that?
i dont like K/D/A ratio because if u play support or tanker D ratio probably bigger than ur K ratio

You are over reacting, DBR being private won't kill dota. And more important stats are already available anyways.
And what about the ones among us who just play casually for fun? DBR doesn't contribute towards fun, in fact it makes it more about the rating than the game. I don't want that.
CS 1.6 didn't have stats. If you want this game to be more like CS, don't have stats. If you want it to be more like LoL, do have stats.
lol dota buff is a stats website for dota, and people are getting tense cuz there are stats on this website that they dont want there. lol u are all in the forum for dota buff u all check ur stats why are people complaining. if u dont like it dont come here its as easy as that. for those of us who enjoy stats and like to see how we are doing in comparison with OURSELVES i think that this DBR rating and KDA ratio are pretty decent :)

I don't even know why people are against stats, what ever happened to competition? What's so fun about a game when there's no rankings?
Let me restate what you just said: LoL is number 1 because it tracks statistics.

Ranking wouldn't change the game, while playing dota 1 almost all clients had rankings like rgc darer etc... dota will stay dota, and lol is number 1? since when? there are way more dota1/2 players than lol.. more than you think.
"This game deserves statistics; make it happen or let competitive DotA die." There are tons of statistics already, and more will come. Nothing is stopping you from analyzing your stats and trying to be better player. Why would you give a f about some Joe471 and his stats?
There's no need to make pub stats public. Pub stats should be optional and only ranked stats should be public (if we ever get ranked queue)

If not, DotA is going to become a fad like every other new kids game that comes out. No stats, everyone is good, it's bullshit. No hard work required. LoL will be #1 forever because of statistics; and it is ridiculous because it is a copy of DotA. Let DotA shine and become #1. I remember when I started playing CS 1.6 over 9 years ago. I would get rolled on every single day, but I played and played and now I do well with the best of them.
What happened to hard work? Today's kids are spoon fed everything, and if they look bad or if they aren't "good", they simply quit and move to the next game. We need to cut this shit out for real.
Please implement the player ranking system and make it public; and there should be no privacy option.
DotA is a competitive game; there is 5 million dollars on the line every single year for top competitors. This game deserves statistics; make it happen or let competitive DotA die.
