Yes, in late game u just jump in and hope for tidebringer crit., then u are useless for 4 seconds
early game mostly torrent + ship skill
vanguard is crap item,
bkb, maybe, if needed
Don't get vanguard. If you are getting hit with lots of little attacks for a long time you are making a positioning error. Kunka is supposed to appear from nowhere, kill you from full health, then leave. Cocco Rum gives him double hp for 8 seconds....then you leave, no reason to have vanguard. Get Shadowblade first. Crystals might get a crit, but usually does not. Shadowblade always gets a crit.
how about lane wise? would u only play him mid because of tidebringer? i usually get phase bottle shadowblade daedalus but just wondered if any1 else had any other builds they had tried maybe a max armor drop build like deso a.c or something tried deso once and didnt feel like it helped for the money u pay
-Armor doesn't carry on to the cleaved targets. You can play him mid, carry or support, whatever you want.
Kunkka is very lane versatile and can be played in any lane provided it is strategically viable. He is basically a one hit wonder who is not team useless like a lot of other right clickers are.
Torrent, Boat, Splash. Add that with another good Cc or AoE hero and you have a killer combo right there.
While this game reflects badly on me I will post anyways... http://dotabuff.com/matches/281551291
Cogs - Stun - Boat - Torrent - Splash - Heal - Epicenter + anything else we could throw at them and team dropped in seconds.
Avoid the Vanguard stage, as while there can be benefits to having one it is basically costing you an early shadowblade which in the long run will provide you with more survival than a vanguard ever will at the late stages of the game.

probably my fav hero coming from dota 1 i just enjoyed him alot in dota 1 getting long range last hit torrents or getting a nice torrent ship combo but the more i play him in dota 2 the more i think his role just becomes the 1 hit tidebringer splash? his combo is helpful dont get me wrong the ships passive abilities can change a team fight but when building him i dont even bother with items like bkb or vanguard to help stay in fights coz i feel like after his tidebringer procs hes kinda pointless? thoughts?
