6.79 Slark in General Discussion

    After the huge change in how slark's ultimate work in 9.79 patch, how it will change his gameplay? IMO he is more slippery but will mot gank that often. Plua getting MoM is quite viable like the old slark in dota allstars. Whats your opinion on his new gameplay?

      I have no idea what hes gonna build in the new setting, but defintely need some blind stun hero to counter him... warlock nyx sk , otherwise too imba...

            He will be less effective in team fights (that thing used to be off cooldown two or three times a fight) and more effective ganking (you're not going to gank more than once a minute anyway).

                            This is not that big of a nerf. If you are in a sufficiently high skill bracket, every battlefield will be littered with sentry wards anyway. In my experience, my ultimate just does nothing later on and is only useful in ganking (and running). And guess what? It helps him gank, diving towers etc. On the other hand, it is a slight nerf to is ability to run away but it also helps it a tad since you cannot detect him. Let's not forget this one important fact about the new slark: ultimate + bkb is 4 seconds of INVINCIBILITY AND MASSIVE HEAL.

                                Not quite. Abaddon can still be killed by AXE. Also any experienced player isn't going to damage abaddon during his ultimate, you just chase him and continue dps when it ends. Slarks ultimate makes him imba fast, with really good heals, and now he also won't be targettable no matter what you do. So if he wants to get away, theres no stopping him (with bkb). Or if he wants to tower dive and net a kill, theres no stopping him (with bkb). Then he can just pounce into some trees or a cliff and tp out.

                                  Blackhole can still stop him. If Slark does not get a bkb there are plenty of aoe nukes that can be a real threat to slark.

                                    Ah right. Theres the good thing about dota, theres a counter to everything. Does chronosphere do the same thing? What about disruptors ring spell? I can't think of any other aoe holds that might go through bkb.

                                      Another counter to keep in mind...torrent hits AOE and is not removed by dark pact because it hits in lots of tiny instances instead of one.

                                        U ll just need tons of aoe to bring him down. Rapier/bkb Slark will be hard to deal, hope it wont disrupt pub games lots

                                            Pusher Slark, Always push on top or bot, always use dark pact to push quickly, if enemy try to gank, invi and teleport to another lane. Wait your cooldown, repeat

                                              Tried slark in testmode. Slipping away from tower attacks is quite fun. And looks like that 65s cooldown isnt that long. Just like what Mark said, you wont gank more than once in a minute.

                                              What are viable items that could use the potential of 4 sec being "invisible"?
                                              and the lothar nerf...is it still good on him? +10s cd time is quite a long time.

                                                Build him like you used to - 4 seconds of invisible heals guaranteed in team fights + tower diving ability only makes his previous play style even stronger. Lothars to insta kill any wondering supports, eye of skadi (even better on him in the new update, got buff), S&Y, butterfly, drums, AC, silence, RoQ, BKB, etc.

                                                  people wont use slark much now atleast wouldn't see him in international stage because og his ultimate's cooldown :/ it was the 25 second cooldown which made him fearless, now with that gone he is pretty much a easy hero to kill... :( my fav slark.. :'(
