And be incredibly vulnerable to ganks, can't gank, and still needs a significant amount of farm to have some kind of presence in the game but needs to share it with another safelane carry? This is why ancients/junglng with heroes that have absolutely 0 presence in the game until they reach a very high level/amount of farm is just stupid.
i agree it is stupid. but an interesting alternative to ancient jungling since that has been nerfed. but that is level 6 @ 7 min so you can go gank right away

Medusa doesn't have zero presence in the game. Her ultimate is actually quite strong for both team fighting and ganking even a duo of overaggressive heroes. Activating the ultimate at their escape path will leave them to just stand there and die.
Mystic snake has also received a buff to do pure damage to those turned to stone. That first bounce is about 200 damage, which is actually pretty good if pure. The last bounce turns out to be like 600 or 700 damage, which is just ridiculous if pure (good luck getting that to go on a stone hero, though). But that is another way she has some influence earlier on.
Cool cool. You've never actually played her well though, have you? Or payed any attention for that matter.
1. If you read what I wrote, which was not "she has no presence", but that she has almost no presence UNTIL she receives quite a significant amount of farm. We are not talking about "medusa" here, but the viability of jungle Medusa. Yes she can carry damn well at the moment, but jungle or ancients medusa = pure fail for the reasons I stated above. Her ultimate is fucking nasty, but you do still need either (a) some farm or (b) the enemy to have 0 farm in order to even get into the middle of the fight and use it effectively. For jungle/ancient medusa, you are super vulnerable early on, and even with your 7 minute midas, you are a free kill to the enemy for much, much longer, and easily shut down with a gank/ward or two.
2. That isn't how her nuke works..the increase is on the base damage, so it moves up 50 each time, up to a maximum of 450 damage. That may sound nice in theory, 450 pure damage, but not only is it a somewhat unrealistic/unreliable scenario as you said, you are facing heroes that currently have 50% bonus physical damage on them and 100% magic resistance. Which again, favours a safelane carry Medusa that will farm much more reliably and safely who can make much better use of this damage amplification, although its not really a fair comparison.
tl;dr, Medusa is fucking awesome, jungle/ancients (which doesn't work anymore?) is shit tier
Personally, I've never thought of Medusa as an early game game-changer other than the fact that she is INCREDIBLY tanky once you have max e, magic wand, and a perseverance. The entire enemy team can unleash on you and you'll still be standing, long enough for your team to come in and face an enemy team with no cooldowns. And it's either the enemy team does this, or just lets you go free.
Though having said all that, I haven't played Medusa since the ult change, much less the ancients/jungle change.

Alright So I sat down and tested the method real quick. I have a couple criticisms and some results.
#1 The ward above the camp that you put on the ledge is served better on the steps for 2 reasons: 1) Maintains vision the entire time & less trees to cut and 2) better vision for watching for ganks. #2 Picking up level 2 split shot and 2 levels of stats with 4 branches + gloves of haste leaves you standing around picking your nose at about the 45 second mark. #4 I did this test with bots so no chance of being ganked. By the time I left the jungle, the bots of the enemy team pushed down tier 1 of mid and tiers 1 & 2 of bottom.
#5 Phase boots at 11 minute mark after suffering a death. Perseverance and Demon's Edge at 20 minute(could have gotten sooner, bought demon's edge with 3700 gold in tow). Linken's 22. MKB 25 after wiping enemy team under mid tier 2.
It seems like a decent method to use in low-high(not very high) tier games until it becomes mainstream(even then you'll probably still be able to). Beyond that it will probably be spotted fairly quick and your life will be made hell as is with any jungler.
Medusa is good ulti is awesome and nuke pretty stronk too her only drawback is manaburners and if you skill the manashield tooo early

i like the ward improvement. also, i wouldn't get two levels because of that reason. You just kill all of the creep too quickly. GJ on the quicker midas time. Were you able to get an extra stack or did the branches and level 2 split shot allow you to get it quicker?
I did test this in game with an enemy bloodseeker middle. Never got ganked and it went smooth.
I might have gotten another "stack" but it's mostly about the fact that once I had that lvl 2 split shot and stats I was able to clear both camps before the next respawn every time. It wouldn't surprise me that I got additional spawns as you typically had 2-4 sets of spawns running around. I'd say if you're really careful with the stack times you could still do it with lvl 1 split shot, but it's really difficult. Though I'll point out that not only did I get the midas quicker, I got it with an extra 212 gold spent.
As for the bloodseeker mid, I think in that specific instance, it would have come down to how many ranged creeps you get, because quite frankly, they get in a lot of damage over time(the one screenshot I'm down to 196/720).
