Sooo...they are going to get Dota 2 to be playable with that controller. Give it a week when it comes out, then the people who actually decide to give it a try will realize it's bullshit to play like that and change back to their PCs.
Big deal, it's not like they are making it mandatory to play with the controller.
I don't see the difference.
some people I encountered definitely played on controller. or touchpad.
I've seen a stream where a guy plays Dota with a PS3 controller, looks awkward but he seemed to be able to do alright.
Would be better if the Joystick could control the hero.
there was a guy in sc2 who was high master playing only with xbox controller, so some ppl might adapt i guess
Valve cant fix this, old issue already discovered by Beleidiger http://dev.dota2.com/archive/index.php/t-17373.html
"To be able to play Dota from the couch is a really neat opportunity." jez, get wireless keyboard
This won't catch on, it's too complex for a controller so it will be uncomfortable for the user. Also, even if it was released I don't think you would get matched with people using different setups, there would be too much match ruining with all the people trying it out.
I could see. One dpad or touch pad for window and another for cursor location. You only need 4 buttons and left and right bumber tabs could be for inventory and Y-dongle chat.
