alot of carry potential - definitely not sf
maybe gyro ( dunno about his potentional as mid )
OD
Alche could work ( if you play him as hard carry )
It is kinda hard to take good late carry ( not talking about semi carrys, ofc, then it is different story ), becouse they need a babysiter, good amount of farm and to be protected from carrys.
And then, you can go dual mid ( pl and eza ) and rain on their mid
Well I want to expand my array of mid heroes and I'm looking for something similar to my 3 mains that are invoker, shadow fiend and templar assassin. I find them alot more useful than QOP, puck, pudge, OD and some other typical mid heroes through out all phases of game (early mid, mid, late)
Lifestealer can get decent farm mid, at the peak of OD's dominance he was relatively successfully run mid several times.
Speed recently ran Void mid as part of a duo lane very successfully, in the legendary 40 min ee-sama rapier Void against Fnatic.
Carries that can go mid and lane decently (competitively viable) - Clinkz, Weaver, Gyrocopter, Terrorblade, Luna.
@[ESP*] Wink
And you think I'm serious when I say Faceless Void is a reasonable mid?
@God among peasants
How do you survive a smoke gank without missing farm at mid? (As terrorblade)

Crushed storm spirit mid. Metamorphosis combined with using illusions to deny runes along with his base armour and regen gives him decent sustainability for trading. Play abit more passive when Meta is on cd, and aggressively when active.
The same can be said of nearly all mid heroes. Invoker, Storm, SF etc are all very weak against smoke ganks early. The likes of Terrorblade is no different - vision and awareness are your friend.
TB can lane very decently against TA as well - his base armour makes him alot more durable against TA than the likes of storm, and he can easily zone TA while in Meta.
Well, I'm going to say blood seeker. He's one of my favorite mid heroes because he has the potential to stay alive until lvl6 (that's if you can manage to land last hits) and then once you hit lvl6, almost a guaranteed kill with that ult.
From here, if you time your ults with farming mid in the mean time, you can snowball really quickly with him ensuring you get 5 or so kills within the first 20 minutes just by utilizing your ults whenever they are off CD.
Another great feature with BS is that he has the power to do some quick and significant damage to towers with his Q. I like to push out a lane to the tower while in between ult CD and deal some extra tower damage.
The biggest problem that most players seem to have with BS is they don't play him greedy enough. You absolutely need to have a bottle + urn asap. You need that bottle so you can ensure you are able to use your ult whenever it is off CD, you want to be as efficient as possible with your ult. Taking risks is key to playing this hero, if you play safe and just resort to farming lanes, you won't excel at all. BS is the kind of hero you actually want to attempt a 1v2 or even a 1v3 if 2 of them are below 50% hp. BKB compliments this play style a lot as it lets you over extend to a degree and has it actually pay off.
BS also has the potential to transition into late game carry, his Q lends 9 seconds of massive right click damage if you build him with 1,2 damage items. A shadow blade is important for mid game escaping after you have successfully over extended and got 1,2 kills and need to get the hell out.
Hope this was helpful, personally BS is my favorite mid hero with carry potential.

Also I have won games with sf as pure carry when our carry failed for example I recently won a game against against jugger and sniper on same team at around 1:04:40 with them having around 420 GPM and me sitting around at 700 GPM ... the only carry beside me on my team was BH who gave jugger a free divine it wasn't a stomp I made EB(they had jugger, sniper, DP too much physical attack so BKB was skipped), Butterfly, Satanic, DR, Daedlus) and he just smashed their face in so ... SF can be referred to as a decent carry.
terrorblade mid....LOL he'll just melt against storm spirit,QoP,Templar Assassin
tb demolishes storm mid pre 6 after 6 storm cant attempt solo kills due to sunder
tb demolishes qop pre 6 thanks to huge slow and extremely powerfull range form
ta can only kill tb if tb kills himself while trying to kill
axe mid....LOL too much harras. will push lane with meatspin. EZ rarez
17% to proc if u dont triger creep aggro and dont stand next to full hp creeps u wont push anything + if u aggro/push with brain u can get every rune unles enemy ignores gold and exp
also what zenoth wrote is legit all runes are yours or at least denied
^ Its about the whole mid lane plays you will get ganked with smoke and TB will just disappear.
Yes and you can say the same for practically any mid hero - SF, Invoker, Storm before 6, QoP before she blinks towards rune etc etc...

SF is an extremely strong midgame carry due to his passives and nukes as well as his ability to farm extremely fast.
I think
OD
Viper
Storm
Puck
Shadow Fiend
Dragon Knight
Timbersaw
Queen of Pain
Death Prophet
not saying invoker is bad, but he required some farm and level advantage before he can helps other lane
but good thing he can access sunstrike from lv 2 which allow him to support other lane globally without leaving mid
Just pick someone who are good at right clicking and also a mid hero and you got it
there's a lot more heroes that fit the bill, most have been mentioned but i'd add WR, dusa and necrophos to that list.
Midgame sf is fucking op (fast flash farm ability, gets you faster items then anyother carry, except alche )
But in late game ( when you are 6 sloted ) and when all other carries are six sloted ( tb, void, spectre, medusa, gyro ) whos gonna win?
Edit : i never told sf is bad, he just lose his effectivness in ultra late game.

What are some of the great mid heroes that can have alot of carry potential like shadow fiend and templar assassin... heroes that can actually be of great use in the late game as well as being of great value through the mid game and early mid game.
