Enable console by right clicking dota2 in steam and going to properties > set launch options > in the box type -console
now the console will be enabled and can be tabbed show/hide by the key or US tilde key.....if you are ever disconnected you will be able to see the IP and Port you connected to by looking through the console (you don't seem like a dumbass so I have confidence you can work it out)
Once you have found the IP:Port you need to type in the console to connect
EX: connect 146.66.153.69:28105
did it just retry the server over and over? This may be an authentication issue if it is not allowing you back on without an IP flush/change so I couldn't help you any further without seeing a screen cap of the console log.
actually nothing happen if just showed that is try to connect.. but if i could take a screen i show it..
Check that your firewall or router is not blocking UDP ports 27015 -27040 but these should actually remain open. What this does sound like is an authentication issue and I think that there could be a couple things to factor in.
>Don't leave yourself logged in on other computer, and don't share your account at all.
>Connect through cable and not wifi as it can have issues.
>Even small stuff like your BIOS date being wrong can cause issues.
>You have firewall or security software that is blocking Dota 2 from sending and/or receiving UDP packets. Some people have reported issues with COMODO firewall and similar products. Please disable them or configure them to allow Dota 2 to send UDP packets.
>You are on a restricted network that is blocking UDP packets. This could be because of installed VPN software, or you are at a school or university that is blocking the UDP ports Dota 2 needs to play.
>You may have a router that is incorrect configured or requires software updating.
>A possible solution for Netgear DGN1000 Routers: Access your router settings (usually through 192.168.0.1), click on ADSL Settings, change Multiplexing Method from VC-BASED TO LLC-BASED and press Apply

need to change ports through DOTA conosle, so easy. i made my port 270015 and it worked, i think the default is 270005 and that was blocked my my university firewall.
This allowed me to play and connect to Dota games using my university internet.
open antivirus, go to firewall setting, go to application rules, add streaming_client.exe. This works for me :)
