Most flamers don't really bother me because most of their arguments are baseless and uneducated.
Besides, that's what my reports are for.
Why do you even play with real people if you can't stand criticism? Bots can be fun too
Everywhere you go there are flamers, at work, at school, in games. Either you learn to ignore, adapt or hide
If you wanna hide, sure thing brah
??????
Hide ? The time that you lose reading bullshit you could probably be focusing in the game
I could easily start a flame war against some ramdon guy in the game, i could ignore what they are writing, or i could not eve bother to read it, what is the difference beetween mutting everyone and just ignoring it ? None.
The other day i was playing with some guy that was almost crying on the mic, i muted him, so now i am hidding because i cant stand he crying on a mic ? I see thanks man ....
Pffft. Don't mute someone until they give you a reason to.
You're not going to lose because someone is flaming, but you can lose if you can't hear your team mates calling ss or providing information that can help you win the game.
That being said, I've taken to muting players with ludicrous starting items or those that make stupid laning decisions, early on in the game in case I forget later, so that I can avoid playing with them in future. Those I've mute early nearly always end up being the worst players.
@dork
Dota is a team game and communication is key, you go around encouraging people to point blank mute everyone at the start and you get offended when someone commends otherwise. Yes, in this situation since every little thing offenses u, i think u should just mute everyone.
If the guy insults u, u ignore him. He will eventually stop.
Usually he will provide useful infomation that you will need, XXX missing, dewards, gank X etc
Of course if you get the occasional whiner, you hit the mute button
TBH, i mute a flaming teammate about once every 15 games or so
But if you keep meeting them, chances you are adding oil to their flames
"That being said, I've taken to muting players with ludicrous starting items or those that make stupid laning decisions, early on in the game in case I forget later, so that I can avoid playing with them in future. Those I've mute early nearly always end up being the worst players."
That its what i am talking about, in the moment that i see someone picking morph when we have a spectre and saying in caps lock " I AM FARMING SAFE LANE PLEASE DEFEND TOWERS WHILE I FARM " insta-mute, some guy in the mic trying to teach me how to play: insta-mute, Sampson: insta-mute, etc.
A lot of times if i am playing a carry like AM for example someone in my team asks for my help in fights, even when i know that i would only feed and i need to splitpush, i still ignore them but they make me doubt and even if its only for a second that lowers my performance.
Anyway from time to time i actually find nice and normal people that doesnt cry when we start losing, but they are 1 in every 10 games or so.
its a good idea if your gonna do a strat that they will find weird or bad like jungle LC, safelane pudge and etc
" Yes, in this situation since every little thing offenses u, i think u should just mute everyone. "
Again, i was only arguing with you about how in my opinion mutting is a fine choice, i dont know why you really think i got offended at you but ok you are free to belive anything. Its funny how you are implying that i get offended to quickly when you dont even know me.
"If the guy insults u, u ignore him. He will eventually stop."
That its what i do in pubs too, but if none of the 4 guys in my team are going to say nothing worth listening why would i not mute the chat ? Please, tell me.
Its funny because you remenber me the reddit guys who were bitching in a post some time ago about how communication in dota is SOOO important and people who refuses to communicate are the cancer of dota etc etc etc, personally i seriously coudnt care more about communication in pubs, i dont flame anyone neither i try to teach people how to play, i just do my own thing and i like to keep it this way.
What you are basically saying is that instead of mutting someone i should just ignore them, i dont see the difference, seriously i cant see the difference beetween ignoring someone and mutting them.
Anyway this is my opinion, you dont need to get mad man
Yeah that must be the problem man rolf
"TBH, i mute a flaming teammate about once every 15 games or so"
I dont know in what server you have been playing but in EU west i have only met russians or serbian players who average beetween 14 and 17 years old.
@hearts
I can handle criticism, I'm open to it. It's just the 4 other people on my team. Dota is pretty cancerous..they flame someone for picking a support then they boast about how their kda is good and just in general..flaming is retarded. I merely suggested this as a trial and error. I haven't tried this, yet. Jesus..
Nope, everyone gets a chance to use his communicationoptions wisley. If someone annoys me or another teammate, I warn him. If he keeps going, I mute him. Easy.
Well this thread is kind of related with another thread that i created some time ago : http://dotabuff.com/topics/2014-06-23-communication-in-dota.
"Ok so, i am the only one who doesnt really care about communication in pubs ? Before i tried to speak with my team and give them my opinion, nowadays i just play my own game and i only write something if they ask me and its not bullshit."
This is probably my universal opinion on the matter.
I mute if the guy is just flaming, and i mute bad players at the end of the game to filter out bad players.
^Never thought about muting bad players to be able to see it in the next game
Good idea man
