as far as i know there haven't been any algorithm changes in unranked, unless valve did some shady shit

reason i'm asking is that i'd just like to get in a casual game every now and then with 3k rated friends, and the fact that my allies somehow play worse than the 4500 retards i get on my other accounts when i play ranked is just absurd. do i need to go mid with naga siren or something just to win 1v5 every game lol...

and i highly doubt there "aren't enough players" playing unranked, just judging by the games i've played on various accounts, plenty of players stick to unranked. i've checked their dotabuffs and they almost never play ranked, so the player pool isn't barren

i guess unless ur 3-5 stacking with people who are all over 5k, it's probably going to be as bad as LPQ.

i'm thinking i should make an account and feed on it on purpose to get 3k after the first 10 unranked games, and go play with them afterwards. otherwise it's like having to lift a fucking walrus every single game. i barely concealed my flaming cuz all 3 games they manage to lose their lanes horribly even against subpar 4000-4500 trashcans.

i'm not fucking 6k, i can't carry a bunch of 3500's against 4k's lmfao.

the entire point of UNRANKED is to play for fun, not to experience the same 1v5 bullshit that we're free to do in solo queue (at least this problem doesn't happen too frequently at 5k)

because of valve's anti-smurf system.

let's say you went 40-0 as voker in a normal bracket unranked game
the system detects you as a smurf, and sets you in a higher bracket
but you can't handle the higher bracket and you start feeding.

and here's the problem: you need to feed A LOT to go back to the normal bracket.

pretty good against smurfs, but ends up messing up some games.

There's a little thing called the daily hero challenge going on for people with compendiums. There are many people getting heroes they can't really play, but still do so to complete the challenge and increase their compendium level. Guess where they are going to. Of course, that's not the whole reason, but it sure helps to increase the amount of iffy play in unranked.

Then, there is the whole "meh, it's unranked, so I may as well do some theorycrafting (most times stupid shit) because my mmr is not affected" attitude that a lot of people have and think it's "playing casually".

Zano those are also possibilities, but I'm not used to seeing such shitstains in my games. I just got a lion in unranked who maxed out mana drain first (I gave up after that point). The people I get in solo ranked at 4.7k (other account) are already pretty bad, this is like a whole new level of awful. Not a single dust/ward against Mirana till like 40 minutes in (at least 4k players buy detection), these are things unfair bots will typically be able to execute but apparently it's beyond these players to do so.

Anyways, all this QQ'ing in the past week or so has ultimately come to this:

One of the funny things when you play dota long enough, and play through different skill brackets (I was likely a 4000~ player when I started dota 2 slightly over a year ago) is that you start to think: "god how can anyone be worse than this guy?"

And then the standard of non-retardation seems to drop even lower every single time just because you end up finding that worse player.

Why do you go play unranked and complain about unranked on dotabuff? I highly doubt people aren't aware of the shcittinessrubiness of unranked games, neither do they care.

turns out to be anything BUT fun when ur safelane gets a 20 min vanguard on spectre and maxes out dispersion first.

i don't understand why these players don't just uninstall the game, playing dota for them is like trying to major in mathematics and not even being able to pass multivariable calculus.

He obviously wants Valve to reprogram the matchmaking system so that whenever he queues für an unranked match, his team's average MMR is about 2k higher.
Seems like a legit request to me.
