Treant offlane in General Discussion

    So i was just doing some theorycrafting, and I than thought aboud Treant offlane

    Pros
    -More xp (more levels) than in a dual lane
    -Maby some last hits
    -Can go bully the jungler like a bounty hunter with his first skill
    -Cant be killed that easily
    -Can still heal everybody, since his heal is global

    Coins
    -???

    Im a missing something or is this actually a good idea ??

      Being a good offlane =/= must go offlane. All that treant needs in the game is level 7 and a mek. Giving him a core role, expecting him to do something useful with the farm is not really a good idea.

          i dont see why youd get anything when you go treant solo off

          if you manage to get both good xp and some lasthits as a treant you could probably win the game on your own on a timber or something like that

            why cant he get anything though
            cant you just try lane with a bunch of clarities and guise/hide and just win mid with abnormally high level of armor compared to normal 4/5 tree
            provided its some mid which can offensively use armor ofc

              level 1 guise lasts 15 seconds and level 1 armor has 32 seconds cooldown
              your mana pool isnt amazing either
              so what do you do at level 3 get guise or armor and what at level 4 and when do you get leech seed?

              what do you do if they damage your tower do you stop armoring your teammates and what are you contributing when someone comes to your lane or when you leave your lane

              if nobody does anything to you and you get free xp then yes you feel like its working but you could probably do a lot more on many other heroes

                Ye, sounds good to me. Never really thought about that. What items would you get? Get arcanes and straight blink? Arcanes - Mek? Maybe aura build with Mek, Vlads, Shivas?
                I guess if you would start boots, tango, clarity like on most offlaners you could bully the enemy carry pretty hard if their supports isnt a Lich / Skywrath.

                  I don't see treant contesting the lane at all, you're handing free farm to the other teams hard carry. At least clock, timber, mirana etc can trade a few hits or threaten with some burst. Treant you are literally just going for levels alone when he doesn't even make the greatest use of them compared to some other heroes like bounty hunter.

                    he's pretty good at trading hits with his attack damage as well as leech seed.

                    if you're saying a timber or clock can trade hits then I don't see how you can't add treant to that list.

                      Well how would carry treant measure up vs other carries? Like AC,Mjolner, Butterfly,Manta,Battlefury,BoT? Make him a naturefriendly tiny

                        Anyone can be a carry with farm... he has no flash farm, and no skills that scale with farm, anything other than support is a waste.

                            I think its bad idea, if enemy is smart, they will push, and you cant def it and ur heal wouldn't do much if they push right away.

                              Alliance once did a farming Treant, but they had a Lone Druid to go back into and even then all he had was utility items. Not every hero can be a carry, but every hero can be a core.

                                I said trade last hits OR threaten with some burst. Timber and clock burst potential is a lot higher than treants. Tree has seed which is a great spell when combined with someone else, but by himself it won't be enough. In 8 seconds timber can burst you for 280 pure dmg + 150 magical + whatever auto attacks he gets in at level 4. That's serious solo burst potential. Clock's battery assault does 560 total dmg at level 2. If he traps you in cogs you're screwed. They are a lot more threatening and have better escapes.
