I generally try to reason with toxic players and tell them that we can still win and try to keep positive attitude in the team
I haven't got any player that wasn't willing to try and get over the differences and keep playing. in the end, nobody play intentionally to lose, usually they become toxic when they are frustrated
I don't think someone ever muted me, I hope so not because I don't want to cause anyone distress
I muted exactly 3 peoples, and that's because they weren't talking, they were playing some random loud song or screeching sound
i swear my fucking pc will give me a heart attack one day
i dont know if it's the dorms electric network that's garbage or just my pc(probably the latter because most parts are old, traded in or both) but sometimes the whole thing shuts down and won't even go into bios upon reboot, just powers up and sits there. happened 2 times already(once when i just moved back in and got it back from dorm storage, and once just now), both times i removed some piece of hardware(GPU or one of the RAM sticks) and it boots ok, but then if i plug it back again and just let it sit there for like 30 minutes and magically everything starts working again with everything intact and plugged in with me doing absolutely nada
i don't really care what the fuck happens in those 30 minutes but i dread the day when the whole thing shuts down for good because that would be the day i'd have to hastily get some overpriced laptop just to get my labs done
like it's definetly a power issue because my mb just won't pick up on some hardware but the psu is the newest part of the computer and it works just fine aside from these 2 incidents
or it could be a shitty mobo but for a shitty mobo it sure has some cool self-regenerative ability to be able to come back online in 30 mins of doing nothing and it doesn't seem to be an issue with any slot in particular because when i swapped my "good" ram stick into the other slot it still worked fine
I don't think it's related to the electricity. It might be something else but dorm's electricity should not cause that.

idk the dorms wiring hasn't been changed since the 70s which is why we are actually not allowed under threat of eviction to plug in microwaves, electric kettles and routers(???) (of course everyone uses them anyway) so nothing can be said for sure

did u run classic diagnostic stuff? crystaldiscinfo, memtest? it sounds rly gay, i had that problem once actually (after that i secured all pws in cloud monkaGIGA), never happened again, ram/hdd was all good

not a hdd problem 100%, computers don't shut down all of a sudden because there's a bad sector unless it's os files(in which case it shouldn't boot under any circumstance period) and it's usually power issues that fuck drives over and not the other way around
if you have a good pc and a laptop on the cheap side. you can remote access the pc and let it do all the processing stuff, and save the work on the laptop itself
my friend in class a year ago has a really strong gaming rig (~1500 usd, but parts here in Israel are taxed alot, so its more like a 900 usd), and a cheapo atom laptop.
I advised him doing it, and he worked much faster in the cs class, running test units and compiling, than the rest of the class who uses the 4 years old computers of the lab (I know they have a certain i3, 4GB ddr3 ram and no dedicated graphic card)
i mean if my pc dies on me i have no other choice than to just go out there and get a laptop but i'm pretty poor so i'd rather not unless it's an absolute neccessity

UPS systems are cheap enough today, that I can't take it seriously when people have to do important work on their PCs but don't have an UPS.
