isnt it always public now, you just decide what you what to show people (mmr, first game played, or nothing etc)
Can you try toggling your "enable statistics" on and off? And please let me know if that doesn't work.
If you uncheck the "Dota 2 - Reborn Beta" and you try to start the old client, can you set your profile to public then?
