After two people abandon, is it a good idea to leave match? in General Discussion

In the match I played yesterday, our QoP abandoned, followed shortly by the Riki.
Later in the match the Magnus left leaving myself and the Puck.

At this point should I have left in order to prevent lowering my stat average? Does DB even record stats in a game with an abandon?

Now I know my stats are nothing worth cheering about, but I like the idea of seeing gradual improvement.

At the end of the match it was me, solo in fountain while a heart stacking BB and Pudge picked off 'team members' who had DCd and were respawning. Do deaths count for the DCd players at that point? Should I have DCd in order to prevent fattening the stats of the enemy players?

Not trying to Insult you, Buddy, but 40% winrate, normal skill and <1.0 KDA on most heroes; you really dont have to care about your stats getting even worse. Take these games as an opportunity to learn stuff and get better at the game.

Not insulted at all. I am still curious as to how/if data is recorded in the above scenario though.

if I'm not mistaken if you abandon the game it will still show up in your recent games where you can view the stats etc.

whether or not they count towards your dota buff stats I don't know

          severe

if the guy abandons after 5 ingame minutes and/or first blood then stats count AFAIK

            ФАНТОМ РИКИ!!!!

If anyone abandons, everyone is allowed to leave, but stats still count AFAIK.

So in the case where I remained in fountain and they continued to kill DCd team mates, I should have left to end the match, instead of allowing their stats to become artificially inflated.

You don't rally need to care about that, it's 1 game. Most dota players have over 500 games. Even if they went 500/0/0 it's only a net increase of 1 average kill per game.

True, but in terms of future time saved for myself (I have answer now) , and out of curiosity as to whether it was implied to the opponent's that I was giving them to opportunity for easy start inflation.
I was irritated at the end of the game because I thought they were 'rubbing it in', but maybe I inadvertently invited it by not leaving.
                    See what I'm saying?

If you abandon the game it will still show up in your Dotabuff stats under abandoned. So its up to you really if you want games like that recorded as an abandon or a loss. I do believe that abandons are still counted as losses for your win/loss percentage and stuff like that however.

In some cases games will not be scored at all and no stats are saved. This only happens in one of these situations:
                      1) A player abandons before first blood
                      2) A player abandons before 5 minutes of game time
                      3) Poor network conditions are detected

In all cases, if you go to the main menu, Dota will tell you that stats were not recorded and the game is safe to leave. If you stay it will also tell you that stats were not recorded in the victory screen. In this case the game will not show up in Dota, on Dotabuff or on any other stats website and will not count in any way at all.

As long as the first leaver was AFTER firstblood stats will be recorded and any hero in the game will reflect its stats after the game ends. That means if someone dies then ragequits and all of his team except one players leaves that player can feed the leavers for lots of deaths that will counts as their own in dotabuff and dota profile stats.
