CM jungle can jungle while being close enough to assist mid at a moment's notice.

So if you have a solo carry it's not that crazy for a duo jungle because you still have support mid.

^ Yep. But the solo carry shold be capable of handling the lane on his own.
Also, a bigger factor is the enemy supports. If they are a "roaming support" type then it would be really difficult to jungle.

Honestly, the best CM counter currently seems to be Riki, since he can just break her disable and dodge her ult anyway while doing damage of his own if she continues to channel.

On topic: Double jungle should always have tp and smoke for 'on the fly' ganks to win/save other lanes. You can do position 1(mid/hc) - 3(off/tank) - 2(safe/levels) but you still have to actually survive these lanes even if you don't 'win' them. Jungle, win lanes, make plays.

They tried to gank mid many times, but because I had high levels on CM due to jungling I would counter gank every time and QOP ended up getting enormous.

I'm not saying it's good or anything, I wouldn't try it in an actual game where you care about winning, but it's VIABLE and not TOTALLY insane.
