If you play Sniper as full support, you go for Octarine Core.
But if you play Sniper as semi-support with an option to transition into core later, Orchid/Bloodthorn is your best choice.
daedulus is more dmg than bloodthorne if it's just you taking advantage of that debuff, plus bloodthorne is countered by bkb and other shit. I think the choice has more to do with your opponents actually and if you need silences/true strike vs them. Otherwise go daedulus.

Title. I feel like the item outclasses daedalus in a few important aspects, due to the active, and it can provide more disables once mantas, euls(es) and bkbs are used. In a lategame scenario when you have already secured buyback and (usually) have multiple right clickers, is there any reason to go for daedalus instead of this item?
And more importantly, on what heroes would you rather opt going straight into a daedalus instead of getting a crystalis or orchid into blood thorn? The one I see is Sniper because you will never be in range to use blood thorn if you are smart, but at the same time somebody jumping into your face might get silenced if needed (but smart people are usually going to be able to purge that off in some way though).
An important downside I see to the item is that you kinda have to go through somebody's BKB duration or bait manta or euls, but at the same time if you can disable somebody for a second or two they could receive tremendous damage even if they possess the means to remove the debuff.
Likewise I feel that the item might not be too useful against juggernaut or lifestealer unless you are more likely to attack them once they have already used their immunity.
