Yep especially the effects. Much wow.

Its just some good fun. Makes some things interesting, and has the ability to give you a goal (instead of, well, lets just play an average game of DotA).

Imagine, being 100 health (on the Ancient) from winning, and your team holds off so you can complete your quest "Bottle 6 runes."
Then, the other team somehow manages to wipe you as you and your team lolly gags for 4 minutes, waiting for runes to come up. You then lose the game, and your whole team reports you. A day later, you are in LP.
