^hahahaha.
Yea. Blink is dogshit bro. The build is dragon lance and atos for the slow and tackiness. Then u just go bloodthorne for the crits and rapier because it has good winrate.
octarine and necronomicon are not commonly used items for TA... it would be difficult to make conclusion from those... it can be an outlier...
regarding the use of win rates, I think is it valid to use winrate if the pick rate for that item is high... since it covers as many possibilities and situation e.g. TA played by pro, TA played by noobs, TA teamed up with given hero, TA fighting against a given hero, etc...
huge data statistics actually carry information that might be helpful in assessing whether one item is effective of not. with regards to TA with blink dagger, it seems that going for blink dagger don't necessarily help players to win, (although the exact reason we cannot tell from this statistics - we can only tell by examining the statistics in more details, data mining).
Ok op. The cheaper core items will usually have the highest pick rates n not add much to a hero winrate. It's very simple. It's like looking at the boots winrate. Everyone is gonna get it on the hero. It's core. But it's also an early game item u get eventually even if the game goes bad. It's winrate should be close to the avg winrate of that particular hero since everyone gets blink on ta. But of course getting 3rd item like Daedalus being so expensive usually means the game is going well enough to farm that item. Hence a higher chance u were gonna win anyway.
It's difficult to use item statistics to judge an items effectiveness because items correlates with so many other things in dota that contribute to a win.
One way u can use it is to look at a similar item, obtained at a similar timing, similar cost, similar pick rate, that would be a substitute for blink (phase drums for example), and has a higher winrate.
"sometimes the masses are wrong" - I really agree on this part...
that is why we need to analyze the core item which is best for each hero using using statistics and data analysis...
Some core items add significantly more to a heroes effectiveness than others. Doesn't make an item any less "core"
If you think using dotabuff item statistics is a good idea you really need to rethink your life choices.
dude, with her shield she can take hits and still blink away.
of course blink is still good on ta
those stats mean nothing squiggle.
everyone who is learning ta or is bad at ta will automatically get deso and blink so the winrate will tend towards her overall win rate.
what you really want is a most used items of blue stars for a hero i guess.
according to this logic you should quit buying all boots except for greaves and BoTs on majority of heroes, but on omni, you can but any item you want because you'll win anyway...
I think, you guys should try considering experimenting on your own.
Try to get damage based item for TA during mid-time (perhaps do it 5 times),
Also, try using blink dagger for TA during mid-time (perhaps do it 5 times as well).
Then compare which of the 2 situation would you think/feel will make you easier to win with TA, also compare your winning rate for those 5 games...
We can always give reason why we do things or we don't, but trying can always make you see for yourself... just try... it can be a nice experiment...
instead of going blink/damage predetermined you should always consciously make that choice during the game ~9-11 min mark where u buy the item.
Blink is as legit as ever.
I really don't like dragon lance and some players like dragon lance. But ta doesn't lack range. It's more of an upgrade into pike. But when you compare pike to SNY and the price – sny has better stats and provide a different utility (more prolonged ms and ability to slow) than pike (instant short range position switch). Let's say vs slark hurricane is actually op on almost any ranged hero, meanwhile sny is not that good. Vs almost anything else sny is vastly superior for midgame.

Considering the latest updates and changes on every heroes, it is definite that the changes will have an effect on effectiveness of a given hero, and how it interacts with other heroes. Together with that, it will also affect the effectiveness of a particular item to a specific hero.
So, in every updates, we are sure that core and important items for each hero will also changes.
Looking at a 1 to 6 month period, the effectiveness of blink dagger for Templar Assassin already went below 50%
Please see link below:

Given this statistics of "commonly pick items" of TA, would you think blink dagger is still effective item for TA (49% winning rate on TA)? or just go with damage based items like daedalus (66% winning rate on TA)? Note: would limit comparison on mid-time items.
definition:
early items (0-15 min);
mid-time items (16-30min);
late items (31 and above min).
