Question about Echo Sabre to help me better quantify it's usefulness in General Discussion
Na`Vi.Miracle-

Lets say you take a level 1 Tiny and give him
    a. an echo sabre
    b. a moon shard
Which can attack 4 times faster? (a or b?)
    5 times?

        yes

        oof

echo is primarily useful for the mana regen on melee rightclick heroes who dont typically build any mana regen and rely on burst damage (see: sven, tiny, slark) i think

pretty sure its horribly inefficient for any agility hero though.

Desolated you didn't even attempt to answer the question.

Do you guys not understand the topic? Maybe I worded it poorly?

              oof

Tiny with moon shard, 1.35 attacks a second, 3.7 seconds to do 5 attacks.
Tiny with echo, .7 attacks a second plus one extra every 5 seconds. To do 4 attacks takes 5.7 seconds, so actually he'd do 2 echo sabre attacks and 1 regular one before doing 4 regular ones. So it'd take 5 seconds to do 5 attacks.

To do 4, moon shard takes 2.97 seconds, echo takes 1 echo attack and 3 regulars for 4.28 seconds.

I don't think looking at it as a free attack is quite right, but you answered my question.

Thanks man and that site looks very good for this type of thing :)

well it's not exactly a free attack, echo increases your attack speed to max or something to make your next attack instantaneous but it's not an instant attack, and it slightly delays your next attack due to animation/backswing, but it's close enough. The echo sabre one actually attacks slightly slower than I listed.

Upon proccing, grants the user 490 attack speed until the next attack.
This means it does not provide guaranteed full attack speed and can be countered by strong attack speed slows.
The attack speed has no set duration. It lasts until the user makes a second attack, no matter how long they wait.
Since it is a simple attack speed bonus, it is possible to cancel the second attack and "store" the attack speed for later.
The second attack is not an instant attack. It uses regular attack animation times. This means it can proc any attack modifier normally.

                      Actually scratch that,

I think animation doesn't interfere with next attack. Idk someone might have to do it in a lobby and show the log with timestamps.

As tiny you want to get in and out, so echo saber goes well with your combo, later yeah sell it for a moonshard but early game echo saber is amazing on tiny.

You can test these things in the Dota 2 Demo hero option you know.
