I have a tip to you guys this is how I was able to gain 500-800 mmr on 2.8k mmr up to almost 4k mmr.
Pick Night Stalker offlane and build fast Aghs immedietely, take advantage on its unobstucted vision at night that's a plus since your enemies will most likely wont or rarely wards so your team will have vision advantage.
Build Silver Edge for escape and for solo kill, take advantage of his slow and silence.
Build BKB and Deso and push objectives like mad, take advantage of his night superiority MS and AS, plus talent AS and Damage, plus Silver Edge AS and end the game.
And also when the first night cycle occurs go gank mid help your mid snowball or you can gank like mad on the first night of the game dont forget to build Urn of shadows and Raindrops.
And remember the fast Aghs no need for vanguard since you have Urn. GLHF

Test that Night Stalker that I have suggested you will like it I guarantee you. Smooth sailing up to 3.8k mmr and it will not work anymore on VHS that's why i stopped playing Night Stalker hahaha.
@ImagineDodong i think it still work on vhs cause on my smurf was 3.9k. I've still see ppl who pick all carries.
Edit:But im gonna reach my 50% wr first :D. I didnt even realize i spend my whole time on my unranked match ;.;

@NotThisTime supporting on 1.8k wont work for me . Cause when i'll play supp i see a lot noob ppl out there. But when i've played on random draft i see a lot ppl who are good. They are just 1k mmr down you can check it out on my last game slark.
Lose better up your party if u wanna play with the big boys.

I grinded out of 1k with AM and void which are considered as "dont pick" heroes in 1k

Im 1.8k now too.I played mostly support and offlane if someone already picked a support.It turned out great cuz the enemy doesnt have a support.
I cant do that because there's a lot player that want mid and i let them. i cant first pick cause of they're picking all carries xD
so rush midas on a support and buy dagon 5 (unless you play a lion who already has a nuke) after some blink dagger or force staff ghost glimmer idk. i used to win 1v9 in that bracket as lion building magic dps items (lens, veil, aghanim, octarine).
oh you can also play riki.
but the most reliable way i think is just to learn shadow fiend and just 1st pick him and go mid.

As long as I have ping higher than your MMR every 3 minute I'll stick to my once every 2 week gaming routine
By right way he means the 2k way because he got to 2k. Then magically skipped 1 thousand mmr. Hence the need to man up (not telling you to play more games, but the right games)
The right way as in not buying dagon and become a true utility slave and saving retarded carries with next to no farm
I only pick support on about 40% of my games when I was 1k tho
why save your retarded carries with utility items, when you can save them by just killing the enemy. smh.
ofc you dont ks with a dagon though, you just burst carries who dont have bkb activated to make full use of that 800+ burst damage nuke.
i dont buy it on necro or lion ever though since they have dmg talents, i feel like those heroes are better as rightclickers so like on lion you go midas treads force veil and you can easily solo kill any enemy support without even using your ulti. just hex hit hit hit spike hit hit dead. if you in a drow strat you can even solo kill carries like that if you've already transitioned into bloodthorn LUL.

Wanna race im 1999 mmr. I get there to an easy way which is spamming the most op hero currently which is luna.
Come on le you have 37% winrate on 1k bracket why would you need a 2.5k acc unless you want to lose every single game
