BKB, Skadi or SaY, Necronomicon or Helm of Dominator and Boots of Travel.
Trees are a huge advantage so a slow can really help.

His question is how Lycan players avoid losing a lot of attacks because of being blocked be your own, slower units.
You micro your units- Also if you are in ult form and youve got say an alpha wolf, 2 wolf minions and you, run past the hero you are chasing, then attack. I also like to micro one of my wolves to bodyblock. Unless you are doing something stupid like chasing a bristleback or a tidehunter you should take anoyone down in a couple of seconds after you swarm around them, esp around 8:00 when you should be making your first ganks. If the enemy runs thru a tree line it can compress your minions into a line and make it harder to control them.
Of course you can always grab a hill troll and ensnare them into place
If you cant micro decently, lycan isnt a great hero. I use Ctrl+move for unified orders then immediately f1 to select lycan
doesnt matter everyone dies in 3 hits anyway, not like u have the aspeed to get lots of attacks to begin with
Lycan is not necessarily a hero killer tho he excels more in taking objectives fast like a madman.
Pretty sure u just put your units on auto attack and animation cancel on your hero and buy phase boots

This is the best move but easier said that done, especially in a real time clash.
Phase Boots is the answer. Some people are using echo sabre

Late game i would agree with you but his power spike is unreal at 8-25:00. Theres no reason why you cant ult, double kill, summon more wolves, howl and tear the tower apart as well.
I realize i am Ns but i have had way more success with securing hero kills around my ult during this time frame than being a stand-alone rat lord. With HOTD now so strong in this meta, there are way too many useful creep skills to help secure kills. Your aura is monstrous in teamfights its basically like carrying a mana-less mek for free
Dont the wolves get the speed too? How do you get blocked if all the units are max movespeed? I mean ive seen it happen just confused a bit.
Daddy- all units have 650 MS in his ult but if the wolves are in front of you they will stay in front of you- also i believe due to pathing if theres another unit, say a friendly lane creep in the way moving in the same direction, lycan and his possee wont necessarily run around. Theres a dotacinema fails of the week like 169-170 or so that had this very scenario

because im cancelling the backswing on my heroes attack animation, but the wolves are standing still during their attack backswing and thus move slower than my hero
