Yep, it happened last time I tried to get back into the game. I didn't want to play on this account as I hadn't played for a long time and would be deadweight.
Played a new account, and holy fuck it was aids. Just a whole bunch of non-stop pings, and people treating the mini map like a sketch pad. Anything else lost in communication became pretty clear once someone starts following you around for the remaining 30 minutes.
Anyway, we installed and it seems to have been removed. I'm assuming the decision was made that subjecting new players to hours of torture (like 30 games iirc) was bad for business.

Was going to introduce someone to the game - do they still mute new accounts though?
Can you still voice chat or write to people in your group?
We both cbf installing the game if that's the case.
