do you also want to assign a key such that when you press it you magically dont suck anymore
VAC ban for macros is definitely no since it's valve itself that developed the coding language and included a console option for you to alter gameplay - simply put, it was a way to customize your settings through your config file directly using notepad rather than the ingame options provided
everytime you alter a setting in game on d2 and exit, that config file automatically updates itself and wallah. so if you wanted to do something that dota doesnt offer as an option for you to change in settings, you could bring it upon yourself to code it and input the language yourself
im not a pro with coding but understand the basics for example.... dota_ability_execute 0 is the code for your 1st skill being q, 1 is w, 2, is e, 3 IS D, 4 IS F, and 5 is r since in settings d and f are included but not always applied as heroes usually have only 4 skills
so to make a macro to instantly cast nado which isn't possible in the options, you'd make an alias for the function as so:
alias "nado" "dota_ability_execute 1;dota_ability_execute 1;dota_ability_execute 0;dota_ability_execute 5"
then bind "F1" "nado"
that'll put nado in your d slot in an instant as if you pressed all 4 buttons at the same time successfully ignoring any human reaction and game response times to keystrokes since you've now binded one button to tell the dota program itself to read wwqr at once and that's just a load of shit when you apply it to poof macros, ghost walks etc
razer synapse makes macros through recording of the keystrokes which is the same as you doing it in dota except you've now made it one button and technically you DID do it but when you werent about to die and +25 depends on it
its highly frowned upon when pros scouted from online get found out to be using macros all along at a lan event etc, if found using macros in a professional level ESPECIALLY at lan, you most likely will be banned from participating in any future events and even if you weren't, you'd probably suck since you're only there cos the reason why everyone believed you were special and picked is actually dirty cheap coding scripts
Been using autohotkey for years mostly for key reassignments.
Haven't been banned and I don't expect I ever will be.
It isn't allowed in tournaments though. Key reassignments are probably fine but most other things won't be.

Hey, guys!
I know, I know. This question about Meepo-Poof Macros, Invoker-Spell Macros, etc. has been around for ages, but my problem is that I will always find people in forums who say: "You get a VAC ban for using macros" and someone who says "Valve doesn't ban you for using it".
So, if I bind a certain key-combination on a key (for example: q-q-q-r for cold snap on x) by using an official keyboard software (like Razer Synapse for example) do I get banned or is that fine with Valve? Is there any official statement?
Thanks for any answer!
