Hmm Idk most sports have a regular season, playoffs and a championship. Only us sports I can think of are golf and tennis, and they weight their majors pretty equally. I guess winning the masters might be a little more prestigious than winning the US open maybe. But I think true golf fans view them all pretty equally in terms of weight and how good a player is. I don't know if dota fans do. I think maybe we should start though. The lopsided prize pool might prevent it from happening though cus TI will always been 5x more at least if valve keeps funding the way they have been.

Difficulty wise I'd put them all pretty similar. That being said the prestige of a TI win >>> any amount of major wins. If Miracle retired right now he won't be remembered as the guy who won 2 majors, he will be remembered as the all-star talent who choked at TI vs TNC.

What's more impressive, winning the big one TI or winning majors? Shouldn't they be equally impressive?
Both TI and majors have 16 teams. Both invite about half the teams and rest have to qualify. Certain region's qualifiers might be harder, like Chinese one or something but that's splitting hairs. Generally it's about the same amount difficult to get to any of them.
Both have group stages. Until the format change to single elimination for Boston they had the same formats.
So does that make what OG has done far more impressive? They've won 4 out of 5 majors. There have been 6 TIs so OG has won 4 out of 11 valve events. No other team has won two valve events. Yet I think we tend to think of majors as lesser tournaments cus they aren't as hyped, as watched and the money isn't as big. But competition wise they should be equally as difficult to win.
I still feel like nostalgia might get people and they might actually contend alliance or navi had a better run than OG, but I think what OG has done is astounding.
