hmm so basically the system now deflates itself every 6 months as all 6k+ player will pull a bunch of mmr out of the the lower brackets by winning, forcing people downward who will then win against lower opponets making a cycle of pushing everyone down while the 6k+ players go up, then 6 months later the process repeats.
looking at some data analysis on reddit, the working theory is that about every 840 mmr is a new badge. which puts basically every 5k player into divine. Another note is that these tiers seem to be similar to the battle cup tiers so thats probably a good way to guess what your badge will end up being. Mmr is not gone, it's just private so only you can see it and other players just see your badge.
can i get divine in like 1 week ? if i win like 40 games of 50 ? or its season 6months to raise ur medal?

The highest one you achieve this season will be displayed on your profile next season and the new one will get calibrated based your MMR at that point.

I've played terribly bad/had Meepo smurfs against me/had brain damaged teammates, terrible calibration games, still Legend 2.
I've lost most games.

The higher you are currently with MMR compared to average MMR, the harder it will be to keep it or gain something. Valve decided simply to pull back those extremly high mmrs closer to where majority of people is.
MMR as number exists and will continue to exist, but probably meaning of it for individuals like we know it as today will disappear and by that meaning of being a 5k player, being a 6k player or stuff like 10k players, which is like pretty big change though.
played 10 games, 4770 before, playing full sacrificial support pos5 cause all team fight for mid and carry, got 6/10 (3 games were ruined over fighting mid), lost 300 MMR. new solo LEGEND 4 - and stats showed 4045 mmr which is complete bullshit. then i proceeded to play 1 game which I won and I was upgraded to LEGEND 5 and my mmr moved to 4070... guess u can say I calibrated as legend 5 then
i guess u need to win like 10 out of 10 or something to keep ur mmr.
and yea, the games seem shittier, i.e people playing PA without having phantom strike until lvl 7 - that kind of trash
