I always would have thought that as well, but I've played huskar personally mid against mk twice this patch and I stomped him because of disarm and harrass both times.
I don't know about STOMPING, but Shadow Fiend works well for me against Huskar, and I'm not a particularly good SF player. Huskar's base damage is not that high which means you can get souls early and deny the shit out of him, and since he has to walk up to you, you can raze and burst him easily. Maybe a good SF player can stomp him.
Broodmother seems pretty good in theory but I haven't tried it. Pugna could probably pull it off too, and maybe Viper if you keep your distance and control him.
Just look at the way huskar survives right now. Previously he used to mitigate damage the lower he got. Meaning that the more damage you did, the harder it was to do damage.
Now, huskar replenishes health more the lower he gets. Meaning that it's just as easy to do damage when he's low, you just have to do it quick, or the hp/sec regen will out-pace your harass.
Also as a sidenote, he now has a disarm, so heroes that rely on attacks to do their damage get dealt with relatively easily. MK being one of those.
So you want a hero with harass potential, and then burst that can finish him off. Lina comes to mind as the top example, because she outranges him with her autos, and has a 3-spell combo that can do 235 + 80 + 450 damage (minus reductions) in the span of about a second when he's low.
If necrophos wasn't god awful right now I'd put him in the same category. Good enough attack range to trade, Ghost Shroud to keep him safe, and Reaper's Scythe to finish off huskar when he's low.
Queen of Pain might make for a good huskar counter now, effectively doing what Lina does. Harassing with dagger and autos until he's low, then dropping a scream + ulti combo.
My final point though that I would make in regards to this, is that there are some heroes in Dota that you just can't deal with easily in lane. That's just the nature of the game. Timbersaw, Broodmother, Huskar, and other heroes like that are often difficult or impossible in some circumstances to "stomp" in lane. Often the best course of action is to just survive the lane, then organize your team to take their mid game away. Lane kills mean very little in the grand scheme of things, as long as you return them in the mid game when heroes start to accelerate. Sometimes if you're against a huskar, you can just pick a Zeus, or a Pugna, or an SF or Puck and just focus on spamming waves, getting through the first 8 minutes, and just be conscious of stepping up into Life Break range.
Thanks for the input. sf is noted.
If anyone can confirm the pugna and brood that'd be cool to keep in my pocket as well.
Thanks for the input canuck, on a side note since we mentioned pugna. Does the huskar q interrupt channeling spells?
I seem to have 50/50 results seeing the invoker vs huskar matchup many times.
Thanks though ywn I imagine with your skill on invoker you can usually handle it.
Bone fletcher.
But not stomping though
This is purely a guess since I haven't seen the matchup, but shouldn't naga do decently?
And probably sniper?
Can some immortal come down and shed some wisdom
Naga is pretty "meh". Yeah her illusion+riptide can be solid, but 1 point in Inner Fire is basically more than enough to deal with her completely, especially considering the cooldown on it is lower than Naga's mirror image. You really need level 4 at minimum before naga is a threat in mid, and by then, huskar should be 1-2-1 and not be at any risk.
Clinkz is okay, but then your mid is a clinkz and there's a lot of other holes in your draft you have to fill. Crowd control, tankiness, etc.
Arc warden could probably do fine, though I imagine he has a hard time dealing that last bit of damage to kill huskar. His biggest damage dealers are a DoT, and a nuke that takes a second and a half to activate. In that time, huskar can easily regen 100-200 HP, so actually getting that killing blow seems like it may prove difficult, but I haven't played the matchup to say for sure.
none of ur ability to burst him down matters when he gets lvl 6 while ure 4 at the best thanks to fucking burning spear spam and his ability to trade 100 of his hp (regenerated in 3 seconds) for 700 of yours
Anything that does burst magic damage early is good - Shadow Fiend, Lina, Queen of Pain, Pugna and Skywrath as far as conventional mids go and half the support pool if you are going to play like Crit-. Problem is these heros are normally vulnerable to Huskar later even if you stomp the lane. Viper is a solid choice that beats Huskar in lane and continues to beat him into the late game too.
Troll warlord is excellent throughout the game and doesn't lock you into an aids hero like viper. Just make sure that once he is level 6 to hold your blind until after he ultis.
Huskar mid is good early, But can't last hit very well therefore when the game gets late, he'll be outfarmed by his mid matchup.
I have seen topson pick troll mid into huskar multiple times and hes had a lot of success with it.

yo, watch this. Yawar huskar got destroyed by a chinese batrider mid.
Lina, Viper and Clinkx absolutely shit on Huskar in lane he cant do shit to them and just dies.
Just go for viper sir, is easy to play + pretty strong, is the best hero for this huskar situation.

Topic. The rework I feel made this cheese hero even stronger than he already was. Against him is a struggle and with him is a guaranteed win how do you higher bracket people handle him?
