According to my experience solo and party, MMR can be very different. A friend of mine (which vas Devin 3) ended up getting crusader rank when he played in the party (mainly because in party matches he was just playing for fun and not taking them seriously) but ended up going back to Devin bracket when he completed his solo calibration.
Your profile shows the highest medal so if your party mmr is higher than your solo it will show your party medal.
Medals are not strictly connected to mmr its just a estimation of someones peak solo/party mmr. Also 2 different solo calibrations can have 2 different medals with the same calibrated mmr. For that i have no answer.
the highest medal is what changes your battlecup bracket also, fyi.
My solo mmr is 2k higher than my party.
I haven't calibrated my Solo MMR since the reset and i can play in tier 3 battlecup.
Your party mmr and solo mmr combine together. The party increases it by 2% and the solo mmr increases it by about 25%.

less than 2k trash here.
Well, thats my situation. I currently have 1854 solo mmr, and 2300 party mmr, got some lose/win streaks. After i calibrated solo i got Crusader VI, after i calibrated party i instantly got Archon 4 and now i have 50% under my medal. How the fuck this works? Will i get ranked up? Will my medal be Archon in next season, or it will be Crusader?
Dota wiki saying what 2k is Crusader, not Archon at all.
Thx in advance.
