1. I'd say it's pretty balance but not perfect because some people can skill report you for no reason and make your behavior score decrease, but one of the factor that hugely decreasing your behavior score is abandon which is -1k.
And to increase it all you have to do is to play without getting report or abandon, commend contribute little score to the behavior score increment, and also someone muting you doesn't affect your behavior score.
And with this new ranked role report system I still didn't know how much it affects to the behavior score.
2. It's not 20 years it's permanent because there is something called year 2038 problem because year 2038 is the furthest possible date in a metric system. And why it's better to ban them permanent? It's because those who get ban is the scum of earth, they are not belong any place in dota and should not give a second chance.
Most player that get ban for permanent is either has abandon a lot and has extremenly low behavior score (1k below) and hacker, scripter, booster and probably item destroyer are getting banned too.
"Before they do that bad things, they must or already know the consequences but they still do it so it's fair to punish them to death" -LegendaryHD
You can play with bots to have unrecorded match or lobby with your friends it's already there, if this feature comes online with all player around the world it would be shit because someone can just ruin the game and leave whenever they like.
I mean think from Valve's perspective. They are running the 2nd most popular MOBA online, MOBA's have notoriously toxic communities, and their bad reputation as such definitely scares off some potential new blood.
Even if the Behavior system isn't perfect, at the end of the day, if you're sub 2k behavior it's pretty cut and dry that you're an absolute piece of shit. While it's possible that said piece of shit is going through some irl struggles and is using DotA to vent, is that fair to the other 9 people in their games who are subject to the receiving end up their emotional release?
One person chooses to unleash their negative emotions on a game and ruins it for 9 others, massively increasing the chance one of those 9 go on to their next game already riled up and tilted- primed to continue the chain reaction of toxicity and game-ruining. Some of those players in any of the resulting games may have such a negative experience they stop playing entirely.
From a company perspective is it even worth that risk? Just ban them. Let them go ruin some other video game. Valve isn't their family, isn't their friend nor their therapist. Whatever screws are loose in someone's head to make them act like a total degenerate online isn't Valve's problem.
And about this false report system if you are playing bad and get report you won't get permanent ban because there absolutely no case so far like this. So it's only for evil people.
^ okay that makes a bit more sense. I was under the assumption that people who "play bad" or perhaps it was literally they first 5 games going around making bad plays that would result in salty players filing a report on them for intentionally feeding.
But I still stand by what I said in the beginning. I just hope they have a justified system & not just banning everyone under a certain behavior score.
Yo OP.
Without even looking at your profile I knew your most played heros are defensive supports.
Try playing core now and watch your behaviour score.
I think they should make reports for core roles have less impact on beh score. Its so ez to get reported even by enemies if you stomp them.
my score report is permanently 20ish commends 3+ reports and my score hovers in the 7000s are a result
I never flame my teammates but I flame the enemy team semi frequently which doesn’t help at all
Never understood people who flame enemy. Flaming teammates makes more sense as you're expecting them to perform to a certain level and then get frustrated if they don't.
But the enemy? Haven't you ever played a live sporting event of any sort? Who actually trash talks their enemy? Show some respect, shake their hand after the game. Compliment them when they out-play you, there's no need to say "lucky" or "took 3 of you to kill me."
The best competition is between competitors who respect one another.

Yea, mainly playing Warlock. I only pick other heroes when they ban him. My enemies would always taunt me when I lose to them saying things like Master Tier Warlock still lose, quit playing. I'm like, I'm playing him because I like his lore it has nothing to do with the meta or how strong I am with this hero. Besides I'm just a pos 5, don't put it on my head like just because I play him a bunch I'm supposed to carry my team alone with it.
I'm just ranting now. But yea, I've got games where my team reports our carry for farming (Which he's supposed to) & blames him when we lose a 4v5. Like this not only triggers them for not feeling like they're doing their job well some might even feel guilty & join the losing battle penalizing their farm further. Which by the end of the game team mates telling him if he's not able to farm don't play carry & ask where's his item and why he's dying so often. Like DUDE YOU DID THIS !
I play Core and I have a 10K behavior score so what your saying is bullshit. I play both offlane and Mid. If you keep your damn mouth shut beyond constructive conversation you maintain 10K people its not rocket science.
^if this guy is 10k player im proud of being in shadowpool with parmaChan and lebanian guy
idk man people always allchat dumb shit like “gg no carry” when they’re 0/9/5 as disruptor with an ogre club and a point booster

I've been playing Dota 2 since 2012, My score has always been over 9000. (Currently 10,000) I get that Valve is trying to remove toxic players from the game but I can't help but sympathize with those players.
First of all, what's to say that the behavior system is even balanced & just? We've heard about it but very little is known to what contributes to low behavior scores. Maybe the ones that leave mid-game are the sensible ones that just didn't want to play with their toxic teammates?
Secondly, Why does it have to be a ban & why 20 years? What about just having them in low priority until they get better? At least, in this case, they still get to play the game.
We have Ranked matches, We have unranked ones.
Why can't we have Unrecorded/No-Penalty matches? Like a LAN game where players can rage quit when they lose and find a new match.
Many other points to make but these are the ones that I felt were a little sketchy & unfair.
