Fury Swipes is physical damage (it basically just gives you more attack speed) so it isn't affected by mage slayer attacks.
Radiance is magic damage and so it is reduced by mage slayer attacks according to https://dota2.gamepedia.com/Spell_damage
It's actually funny how you give the right answers, but with completely wrong reasoning, because you can't read the article you link.
Fury swipes isn't reduced because its dmg is added directly to your right click dmg. Radiance is reduced, because items with abilities that deal dmg are also affected. It has nothing to do with dmg being pure/phys/magical.
There's an easy way to know:
Can I spell lifesteal the damage ?
Yes: mage slayer reduce it
No: mage slayer doesn't reduce it.
You can spell lifesteal radiance, but you can only lifesteal fury swipes.
As far as i know they fixed the last couple discrepency where that reasonning was false
did they remove custom lobbies from dota or something? this takes 5 minutes to check in lobby (or even less if it's on wiki)
It does have something to do with damage type. All magic damage is affected, including items. All physical damage is unaffected.
From the article you link:
> Spell damage is all damage which is not dealt by physical attacks. This includes all spells which deal magical, physical or pure damage, as well as all items with abilities that deal damage.
Acid Spray, Edict etc all get buffed.
> Even the damage dealt by attack modifiers counts as spell damage, as long as the effect deals its damage in a separate instance from the attack damage.
Fury swipes don't because it counts as attack damage, not because it's physical.
quill spray deals physical but is reduced by mage slayer, also he mentioned acid spray another obvious one, its jsut straight up false that physical damage isnt reduced by mage slayer. if its a physical damage spell it gets reduced. not that hard bud.
okay thank ppl since my friend ask me this question and i dunno the answer lol
the "can i spell lifesteal" rule seems gr8
